LinkNYC Open Data Campaign

As part of my work for the New York City Mayor's Office of Data Analytics, I designed an OpenData campaign for LinkNYC kiosks that highlighted winners from the NYC Open Data contest. Six ads total were displayed on LinkNYC kiosks across the five boroughs from September–October 2018. The final designs (blue and yellow) adhere to color accessibility guidelines.

The Process

In creating my initial sketches, I first had to determine how I would convey the objective of each data project while emphasizing the diverse ways in which NYC OpenData can be applied. After reading through the featured projects and understanding the varied professions of each contest winner, I decided to feature a short one-sentence summary of the project along with the tagline

"I am a  _____ powered by NYC OpenData."

The blue and yellow color combination were the first colors I worked with, though I also wanted to try other variations. I ultimately stuck with blue and yellow in my final design for visual accessibility purposes.
